Liposomal vitamin C offers one of the most important vitamins in the form of liposomes, or fat-soluble. Liposomes are small round microspheres composed of phospholipids. Examples of phospholipids are lecithin. Phospholipids are part of all tissues and cells, and because they are both water- and fat-soluble, they participate in the transport of fat-soluble compounds such as vitamins and hormones into and out of cells. Therefore, putting vitamins and nutrients inside liposomes offers the best absorption and bioavailability. When taking a high dose of vitamin C in its normal, or water-soluble, form, a large part of it is quickly washed out of the body, because the body is unable to absorb and store a large dose. The liposomal form helps to absorb large amounts better. This product is good to use when you have a cold, so that the body receives a large amount of vitamin C.
